STARBLAZE HF III
A rutile type hardfacing electrode designed for producing tough-hard surfacing deposits with excellent resistance to impact, compression, and abrasion. StarBlaze HF III is suitable for rebuilding and protecting unalloyed and low alloy steels subjected to severe wear conditions. The deposited weld metal combines high hardness with moderate impact resistance, making it ideal for extending the service life of wear-prone industrial components. It delivers excellent running characteristics and consistent hardfacing performance across demanding applications.

Recommended for mixer blades, dipper teeth, metal cutting tools, forming tools, dies, drilling bits, punches, shears, croppers, crusher hammers, crane wheels, and conveyor buckets
Use a short arc during welding
For crack-sensitive materials, a buffer layer of 18/8 Mn type electrode is recommended
Low alloy and high carbon tool steels should be preheated to 200–400°C depending on composition and thickness
Allow slow cooling in still air after surfacing
Provides an excellent balance of abrasion resistance and moderate impact resistance
Suitable for hardfacing applications where component life extension is required

A rutile-basic coated stainless steel electrode, E308L-16 is designed for welding austenitic 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels. With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
