StarBlaze HF 650
DIN EN 8555: E6-UM-60-S
Rutile Coated | Air Hardening | High Abrasion and Impact Resistance
StarBlaze HF 650 is a rutile-coated, high alloy air-hardening type hardfacing electrode designed for extreme metal-to-metal wear environments. It delivers a crack-free, porosity-free, slag-free deposit with a typical hardness of 58–60 HRc. Recommended for surfacing of components exposed to high abrasion and impact, including bulldozer blades, excavator teeth, rock drills, and coal cutter bits.

- Weld metal hardness of 58–60 HRc
- Non-machinable deposit, excellent for metal-to-metal wear
- Free from slag inclusions, porosity, and surface cracks
- Excellent impact and abrasion resistance in demanding settings
- Ideal for hard surfacing on heavy-duty equipment and mining tools
- Earthmoving and construction machinery
- Mining and quarrying operations
- Cement, steel, and coal sectors
- Agricultural and excavation tools
- Foundry and casting refurbishment
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW / MMA)
- Polarity: AC or DC (~50V OCV)
- Usable positions: 1G/PA, 2F/PB, 2G/PC
- Short arc welding recommended for stable deposition
- Best for surfacing components where machinability is not required
- Use buffer layer (18/8Mn type) for crack-sensitive base materials
- Preheat high carbon and low alloy steels to 200–400°C depending on thickness
- Guide with short arc; cool slowly in still air post-weld
- Suitable for direct buildup and wear reinforcement applications
