A basic heavy-coated, low-hydrogen electrode designed for superior mechanical strength and crack resistance, especially on C-Mn microlow and low-alloy steels. With weld metal recovery up to 115% and consistent impact toughness down to –50 °C, it is ideal for high-strength structural joints and buffer layers. Delivers smooth arc behaviour, minimal spatter, and x-ray quality welds.

- Stable in high heat-input environments without loss of toughness
- Not recommended for short arc or excessive weaving techniques

A rutile-basic coated stainless steel electrode, E308L-16 is designed for welding austenitic 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels. With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
