An extra low carbon rutile-basic coated austenitic stainless steel electrode with controlled ferrite content of approximately 8% for maximum resistance to cracking and corrosion. StarBlaze SS 308L (Z) features a low moisture pickup coating, soft fusion characteristics, spatter-free arc, easy slag removal, excellent restriking, and exceptional weld bead appearance. It offers excellent corrosion resistance and scaling resistance up to 800°C, making it ideal for welding 18/8 type stainless steels used in process industries and fabrication applications. Supplied in vacuum-packed packaging for enhanced storage stability and performance.

With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
