STARBLAZE CI 35
A graphite basic coated Ferro-Nickel electrode designed for joining and repairing nodular cast iron components. StarBlaze CI 35 produces a homogeneous weld deposit with excellent machinability and superior resistance to cracking. It is ideal for repair and maintenance applications involving engine blocks, machine tool housings, gearboxes, pump bodies, valve bodies, cast components, and other critical cast iron parts requiring durable and dependable repairs.

Clean welding area thoroughly before welding
Remove cast skin, grease, oil, rust, and contaminants from the base material
Maintain minimum heat input during welding
Weld bead width should not exceed twice the electrode diameter
Maximum bead length should not exceed ten times the electrode diameter
Peen or hammer the deposited metal immediately after welding to minimise residual stresses and cracking
Suitable for AC and DC+ polarity

A rutile-basic coated stainless steel electrode, E308L-16 is designed for welding austenitic 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels. With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
