StarBlaze CI 45
Ferro Nickel Electrode
Classification
AWS A 5.15 ~ E NiFe-CI
Description and Applications
Graphite basic coated electrode with a Ferro-Nickel alloy deposit for joining and repairing nodular cast iron. Deposit homogeneous, machinable and highly resistant against cracks. Particularly recommended for dissimilar welding of cast iron to steels and for construction of cast iron. Provides good bonding and flow of the weld metal. Suitable for defects in foundries, engine blocks, houses of tool machines, gearboxes, reducing parts, pump bodies, cast pieces, valve bodies.
Available Packs
2.50 mm – 50–70 A
3.15 mm – 70–100 A
4.00 mm – 90–130 A
- Alloy deposit with 45% Ni for excellent bonding and machinability
- Homogeneous, crack-resistant weld deposit
Suitable for dissimilar metal welding
- Foundry repair
- Engineering maintenance
- Pump and valve manufacturing
- Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW/SMAW)
Welding Positions: as per diagram
- Reduce heat input to a minimum and keep temperature low (max 70°C) to reduce risk of cracks
- Deposit short weld beads (~3 cm) and peen immediately
- Reignite on weld metal; weld on clean, grease-free surfaces
