Universal Repair Electrode, Dissimilar Metal Welding, Superior Corrosion Resistance
A low carbon rutile-basic coated 23Cr-13Ni-2.5Mo stainless steel electrode with controlled ferrite content of 15–25%, specially designed for welding AISI 309 and 316L stainless steels as well as dissimilar joints between mild steel, low alloy steel, and stainless steel. StarBlaze PRIME 309LMo offers excellent resistance to cracking, corrosion, and oxidation while providing soft fusion characteristics, spatter-free arc performance, very easy slag removal, and excellent bead appearance. It is also ideally suited as an intermediate layer for 316L type cladding and serves as a versatile maintenance and repair electrode for a wide range of industrial applications. Supplied in vacuum-packed packaging for optimum moisture protection and welding performance.

A rutile-basic coated stainless steel electrode, E308L-16 is designed for welding austenitic 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels. With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
