A basic-coated, low hydrogen iron powder electrode engineered for demanding fabrication of high-strength steels, pressure vessels, and structures exposed to dynamic loading or mechanical restraint. Delivers a stable arc, smooth weld beads, and excellent slag removal across positional welding. Suitable for both as-welded and PWHT conditions, maintaining toughness at –50 °C.

• S(P)235–S(P)360, GP240–GP280
• SA516 Gr.60/70, SA106 Gr.B, SA333 Gr.1/6 - Re-dry at 300–350 °C for 1 hour before use if exposed
- Charpy impact value ≥50 J at –50 °C in both as-welded and PWHT condition
- Not suitable for short arc or rapid weave techniques
- Ideal for high mechanical restraint and multipass welds

Low Carbon. Crack-Resistant. Versatile.
A rutile-basic coated stainless steel electrode, E308L-16 is designed for welding austenitic 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels. With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
