Porosity-Free Welds, Superior Machinability, Dissimilar Metal Joining
A graphite basic coated Ferro-Nickel alloy electrode designed for joining and repairing grey, malleable, and nodular cast iron components. StarBlaze CI 60 produces a homogeneous, highly machinable weld deposit with exceptional resistance to cracking and porosity. It is particularly suited for dissimilar welding between cast iron and steel, as well as repair and reconstruction of cast iron components such as engine blocks, heavy castings, machine tool housings, gearboxes, pump bodies, and reduction units.

Clean welding area thoroughly before welding
Remove cast skin, grease, oil, rust, and contaminants from the base material
Maintain minimum heat input during welding
Weld bead width should not exceed twice the electrode diameter
Maximum bead length should not exceed ten times the electrode diameter
Peen or hammer deposited metal immediately after welding to minimise residual stresses and cracking
Produces porosity-free weld deposits
