Rutile Coated | Mo-Rich Austenitic | For Sulphuric Acid and Salt Environments
StarBlaze Prime 317L is a rutile semi-basic stainless steel electrode formulated for welding high Mo austenitic stainless steels such as AISI 317L. With a weld metal composition of approx. 19.5% Cr, 13.2% Ni, and 3.4% Mo, it offers superior resistance to corrosion in sulphuric and sulphurous acid environments. The electrode ensures smooth arc performance, finely rippled bead surface, and easy slag release, making it suitable for pressure vessels, piping, and process plant applications.

A rutile-basic coated stainless steel electrode, E308L-16 is designed for welding austenitic 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels. With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
