Valve Repair Specialist, Fully Machinable Deposits, High Strength Build-Up Electrode
A modern low heat input stainless steel electrode specially designed for repairing, joining, and rebuilding valves manufactured from 17-4 PH stainless steel, ASTM A564, AISI 630, and other precipitation-hardening stainless steels. StarBlaze PRIME 446L produces crack-free weld deposits with high tensile strength and controlled hardness, making it ideal for multi-layer build-up applications. The chrome-nickel-molybdenum-copper-niobium alloy weld metal offers excellent machinability with tungsten carbide tools, smooth fusion characteristics, nil spatter, and self-releasing slag.

Heat treatment condition for typical mechanical properties:
Solution treatment at 1025–1050°C for 1 hour followed by air cooling
Precipitation hardening at 610–630°C for 4 hours followed by air cooling
Keep electrodes dry and avoid condensation
Re-dry at 250–300°C for 1 hour if necessary
